Interprofessional Collaboration for School Supportive Staff in Elementary Schools: Creating a Positive Work Environment

The course is aimed at employees in after-school programs and other school supportive staff. The course focuses on the development of knowledge about developing an inclusive and collaborative environment for teaching, learning, and working together by enhancing awareness of professional identity, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and fostering positive attitudes towards diversity.

Learning outcome

After completing the course, students should have achieved the following:

Knowledge:

• has knowledge of their own professional identity, roles, and responsibilities, as well as their strengths and weaknesses
• has understanding of colleagues' perspectives on professional identity, roles, and responsibilities
• has awareness of their own contribution to a positive working and learning climate
• has insight into how teachers plan, structure, and conduct teaching, to collaborate independently with teachers
• has knowledge of the societal mission, The Education Act, Chapter 12, the Curriculum (LK20), and the Framework Plan for After-School Programs (SFO).
• has knowledge of planning, structuring, and conducting pedagogical activities in accordance with defined goals
• has knowledge of strategies and rules for collaboration
