About this course
Content
The course will include theories and concepts related to supervision and learning processes. Change processes in the individual and group level are in focus. It is based on examples from the students' own practice field. Different forms of reflection are actively used in the learning and teaching process. In professional reflection, it is central to be able to articulate and justify different types of choices and assessments of action. A number of working methods are presented and improved in the form of exercises and training. It is expected that the course participants actively apply the knowledge in the field of practice between the sessions and discuss theory and experiences in groups that are established during the study.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge - after completing the course the participant can/should:
- have in-depth knowledge of different theoretical perspectives on supervision
- have knowledge of group theory and group processes
- have broad knowledge of different forms of reflection
- have broad knowledge of different perspectives on practice
Skills - after completing the course the participant can/should:
- provide independent supervision and reflect on different professional perspective
- thematize and highlight professional challenges and ethical dilemmas
- master various forms of reflection
- structure and formulate professional arguments orally and in writing around supervision
General competence - after completing the course the participant can/should:
- apply research-based knowledge and analyze various professional and ethical issues related to the implementation of supervision with individuals and groups
- identify and understand connections between theory, learning and practice
- is aware and can reflect on his own role and is confident in the work situation as a colleague supervisor
Teaching methods
There are 4 sessions of 3 days, a total of 12 days with lectures, seminars and learning groups. The sessions are located in Trondheim. Participants are divided into fixed learning groups. The form of teaching will be varied and take place both in plenary lectures, in small learning groups of a maximum of seven people and in workshops. Between the sessions there is expected on self-selected development tasks related to the supervision in one's own organization. The program for the course presupposes compulsory participation through all four sessions. Continuity, stability and personal commitment are important to benefit from best outcome of the course, especially in the learning groups. The course will place great emphasis on getting close to the participants' own experience of real challenges as a supervisor. Participants will be asked before the start of the first session to write a short paper (1/2 A4 page) about personal goals and motivation for course.
