Counselling in Practice Studies

Knowledge of councelling- and learningprocesses in practice. The subject content shall contribute to strengthening the practice supervisors' competence in the follow-up of students in practical studies.

Knowledge:

• Have knowledge of different elements in the councelling process
• Have knowledge of learning and learningprocesses
• Have knowledge of reflection, reflexivity and critical reflection in practice
• Have knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and current management documents, including regulations on suitability assessment
• Can identify different councelling tasks in practice studies in the social education programs

Skills:

• Can schedule and guide a councellingprocesses
• Can arrange learning activiteies in accordance with learning otucomes
• Can facilitate students participation in their learningprocesses
• Can use reflection and reflexivity in councelling situations

General competence:

• Can contribute to professional reflection, personal growth and critical thinking among the students
• Can critically evaluate their own supervisor role
• Can identify and analyze challenges and ethical dilemmas in councelling, and discuss options for action

The study emphasizes student-active learning methods, based on the students' knowledge and experience. The working methods will be lectures, group work, skills training, guidance and self-study. The study is is organized around on-campus sessions. Written assignment must be approved in order for the student to take the exam.
