About this course

Content

Electronic filters and amplifiers. Architecture of microcontrollers and microcontroller systems. Interfaces and protocols in microcontroller systems. Programming of microcontroller systems, including real time aspects. Conversion between analog and digital signal representations. Digital signal processing and implementation of signal processing algorithms in practice. The course will collaborate with concurrent, relevant courses.

Learning outcomes

The candidate should be able to

  • design and explain the workings of electronic and digital (sub) systems in the time, frequency or s domain based on what is purposeful.
  • implement analog (sub) systems using discrete components on breadboards.
  • implement digital (sub) systems using an adequate processing platform.
  • document how a problem can be solved using a design that is based on one or more general concepts. As well as being able to reflect and review documentation from their peers.

Teaching methods

Student-active forms of learning including lectures. Design and analysis with guidance including laboratory exercises. Laboratory exercises will be done using personal lab equipment. Information about the obligatory activities will be announced at the start of the semester.
