Content

Sensor systems. Principles for measuring physical quantities. Transition from physical quantity to electrical signal. Digitization. IoT and wireless communication. Methods for collecting and storing energy. Charging of Li-ion batteries.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge - The candidate must be able to:

  • Explain IoT and the principle structure of sensor systems.
  • Know how different physical quantities can be measured.
  • Explain how physical quantities can be transmitted to electrical signals.
  • Explain different methods for digitizing an electrical signal.
  • Know the most used standards for wireless communication within IoT.
  • Explain different methods for collecting and storing energy.
  • Explain how to charge a Li-ion battery.

Skills - The candidate must be able to:

  • Design, simulate, implement and verify a simple sensor.

General competence - The candidate must be able to:

  • Obtain, systematize and present technical information.
