Knowledge
- The candidate can describe the mathematical foundation for simulations
- The candidate can explain various simulation methods
- The candidate knows about various simulation applications and software
- The candidate understands the limits of simulations
- The candidate understands how simple and complex systems may be modelled, simulated and visualised
Skills
- The candidate is able to develop a complete digital twin of a simple cyber-physical system
- The candidate is able to develop continuous-time and discrete-time models for a simple cyber-physical system
- The candidate can analyse the system in the time-domain
- The candidate can simulate the system and apply feedback control techniques
- The candidate can visualise simulations of the system
General competence
- The candidate is able to use digital tools for simulation of cyber-physical systems
- The candidate can reflect on the usefulness of simulations of cyber-physical systems for creating sustainable solutions
- The candidate can formulate scientific problems, propose solutions, and present results both orally and in writing to a technical audience

Teaching methods
Learning activities include lectures, tutorials and practical lab/project work. A constructivist approach for learning is endorsed, with focus on problem solving and practical application of theory.
