Teaching methods
Learning methods and activities
The course uses a student-centered learning approach based on a flipped classroom model and modular seminars. This setup allows students to deepen their understanding of the subject at their own pace, in collaboration with fellow students if desired, before the seminars. During the seminars, the course material is further explored collaboratively, both in groups and in plenary sessions together with the instructor, working with a real-life casestudy.
Students are expected to read and work on selected parts of the syllabus and learning resources on Canvas and to prepare, as specified in Canvas, before the seminars and actively participate in the seminars. Together with attendance, this is the work requirement of the course and is very important to achieve good work sessions at the seminars.
In addition to the syllabus, the learning resources on Canvas are an important part of the course, providing students with support to explore the material in depth outside of the seminars.
Language of instruction: Norwegian, but much of the syllabus and learning materials are in English.
Obligatory activities
Preparation (as specified in Canvas) before seminars, and attendance in seminars with active participation are mandatory.
Any absence from seminars must be approved by the course coordinator.
