Content
User-Centered Design to Post-Human Design and Beyond:
- Ethics
- Principles and knowledge concepts in key traditions in Interaction Design
- Prototyping methods
- Task analysis and other practical design methods
- Knowledge concepts related to Interaction Design, User-Centered Design, Eco-Centric Design, Post-human Design and beyond (episteme, techne, phronesis, situation, practice-based, culture, tradition, imagination, agency, re-generative learning)
Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
The student will have a thorough overview of diverse design traditions that exist to ensure Interaction Design products and services, knowledge and processes for different purposes and situations. The student will have in-depth knowledge of user-centered methods and beyond, commonly used to deliver high quality products. The student will be able to apply this knowledge to design and optimize the outcome in products, services and interactive environments.
Skills:
The student will be able to evaluate the demands, the tasks at hand and its ethics in different situations, to initiate, theorise, lead and perform design work, in different Interaction Design traditions.
General competence:
The student will be able to analyse and assess the appropriateness of various design strategies and methods in design work in each tradition. The student will be able to analyse, reflect upon and discuss, academic and ethical design issues, related to the different traditions.
