About this course
Content
Communication is an intermediary course addressing both theoretical and pragmatic aspects of communication. Communication is an everyday fundamental activity and all aspects of life is affected by communication with others. It shapes our understanding of the world and sense of cultural belonging. People interact in a variety of ways and in multiple contexts; for example, interactants share messages in media, distribute written documents at work, and chat with friends and family at home. Effective communication is a purposeful activity where content form an intentional message. The purpose of this course is for students to learn about basic theories that frame the communication field of study

Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
- After successfully completing this course, students will have knowledge on theoretical and applied communication.
Skills:
- Students will develop critical thinking skills, they will also receive practice in presenting information and arguments written and orally.
General competence:
- Students will learn how to communicate with others through project and class activities. Students will also learn and reflect about their Self. Communication is an integral part of everyday activities and students will explore topics and theories that guide their behavior.
