Learning outcomes - Knowledge:

know the background of road standards N100 and N200,

have basic knowledge of geometric road-design and technical requirements for constructing roads and streets

have insight into central and current themes and issues in highway planning locally, regionally and nationally

Knowing the administrative and political decision making prosesses in Norway and know the responsibility of the municipality in the planning hierarchy



Learning outcomes - Skills:

dimensioning and constructing roads and streets according to current requirements for materials, alignment, safety and aesthetics

design plan and profile drawings of roads and road construction

apply scientific knowledge in practical and theoretical issues in land use and road planning

perform registration and analysis work in connection with planning and research tasks

perform simple plan tasks in accordance with PBL

use of academic sources, scientific methods, relevant laws and regulations for planning, engineering and construction.

Teaching Methods:

Lectures and literature studies as a basis for individual exercises and assignments / groupwork. Visits to Construction sites/ companies combined with theoretical and practical exercises and a final project undertaken as a group.

Compulsory Requirements:

Digital working folder (portfolio) which shall include mandatory work requirements of the semester. Tasks will be announced on e-learning tools. The tasks will be related to the subject themes and can be individual assignments or group work. All assignments must be submitted within given deadlines and be approved for access to written eksamen.Portefolio contains up to 6 tasks / exercises (individual or group)
