Organization and Coordination of service Provision for Children and Youth

This course focuses on how the service provision for children and young people is organized at both the municipal, regional and national levels. Students will gain knowledge of interdisciplinary / intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary cooperation with children and adolescents with psycho-social problems. Challenges in coordination of services, children's rights, current legislation and frameworks are central topics.

Knowledge:

• has in-depth knowledge of the service provision for children and adolescents with psychosocial challenges
• has in-depth knowledge of children's rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and national laws relating to the conditions of children and adolescents
• has and can apply knowledge of interdisciplinary, interdepartmental and interdisciplinary cooperation
• has in-depth knowledge of psychosocial work focus area for vulnerable children and adolescents
• has in-depth knowledge on the importance of children's and their families' participation in preparation and planning of services

Skills:

• can apply relevant legislation that regulates the responsibility for children's upbringing and development
• be able to analyze and relate critically to theoretical knowledge in interdisciplinary collaboration
• can use knowledge about children's rights and especially the child's right of self-determination and paricipation
• has insight and understanding of the organization of the auxiliary apparatus and of the management of the various services

General competence:

• can provide insight into legislation in the various service provision for children and young people
• can apply their knowledge and skills to the comprehensive range of services for children and young people
