Learning outcome - Knowledge:

After completed the course the student has:

Basic knowledge of different theorethical and methodical approaches to guidance
Knowledge of communication and various theoretical communication perspectives
Knowledge of the importance of relations and relational quality in guidance and learning processes 
Knowledge about the importance of focusing Resources and possibilities of development in guidance
Knowledge about the counsellors power and ethical responsibility 
Knowledge of guidance as a method of professional qualification
       

Learning outcome - Skills:

After completed the course the student will be able to:

Establish relationships that promotes learning
Apply various methods to stimulate reflection and learning
Communicate with empathy, appropriate and with ethical awareness
Plan, justify, conduct and evaluate guidance processes
Conduct and implement guidance with attention to resources and development opportunities
Analyze and reflect critically on the students own guidance practice and ask for the respons from other fellow students

After completed the course the student has:

Awareness on values, power end ethic responsibility as a counsellor
Depth understanding on the importance of emphasizing a resource perspective in guidance
Insight in the importance of critical evaluation and response on own practice as a counsellor
Understanding of professional development as a continuous learning and development process in guidance
Basic competence to guide persons and Groups
Demonstrates the will and ability to conduct and express self-awareness and self-insight

Pedagogiske metoder:
Varied and student active learning methods are emphasized in the course. There will be alternation between lectures, discussions in plenary, group work, practical training and student organized seminar. Students are organized in learning groups and will work with assignments on and between the gatherings. Students will be invited and encouraged to share their knowledge and experiences, and with different professional and experiental backgrounds they might support mutual learning processes.       

Obligatoriske arbeidskrav:
One individual scientific text with a scope of 1200 Words (+/- 10%). 
Parts of the report from the semester assignment will be presented and discussed in a student-led seminar.
Attendance at the sessions is compulsory, and a minimum of 80% participation is required. Approved mandatory activities are valid for the current and the following 3 terms.
