Sociology of Health and Illness II

This course will explore theory and research on contemporary conceptions of health differences, body, construction of deviance and normality, and technology in health.

The student has a basic knowledge about sociolocal contribution to the understanding of health and illness. The student has developed a sufficient, critical understanding of the scientific basis of health professions and how these affect and are affected by social structures and institutions. The student applies her/his scientific qualifications in a sufficient manner when writing on the chosen topic.

Teaching methods and activities: Lectures, student based assignments and group discussions.
