History of Knowledge II - the Modern Era

This course will emphasize an institutional, social and cultural perspective on the creation and use of different forms of knowledge in society. The course centers on perspectives of modernity and knowledge in this regard. Art, science and technology as well as knowledge of society of itself, politics and ideology will be discussed. The course covers the 19th and 20th century.

The course is designed to give students a basic introduction to institutions and forms of knowledge in the modern period.
