Medieval Studies, an Introduction

The subject is covered in two parts. There is a general section that focuses on methodological and theoretical problems, and a second section with three more specific themes: history, language and literacy, and archaeology and art history.

The subject aims to provide students with basic knowledge for further interdisciplinary studies in medieval society and culture. The main focus will be on Norway, but in a European context.
