Internship in hospital - Phlebotomy

The work requirement is based on training from the first year of study.

Students will practice phlebotomy under the guidance of biomedical laboratory scientists in the hospital. This is part of socialization into the profession, where the student will use their knowledge and skills in meeting patients. Here, the students will also get to know how the laboratories handle blood samples. Practice skills in interaction, cross-cultural communication and understanding of the concept of health. Experienced application of laws, ethical theories and reflection models in practice. The student get to practice ethical sensitivity, and understand the responsibility as a healthcare professional. At the same time, apply the profession's ethical guidelines in reflections on practice.

Knowledge

Practice takes place in the hospital with guidance from a biomedical laboratory scientist at Helse Møre og Romsdal. There is a requirement for the individual student to practice phlebotomy. Conversation with supervisors after each practice session and if necessary.
