Teaching methods
The topic consists of lectures, theoretical exercises and laboratory course. Expected total workload per student: 200 hours. Approximately 70 of those hours are scheduled activities such as lectures, theoretical exercises, group work and laboratory exercises.
An interdisciplinary chemistry festival is organized in the subjects HBIOA1004 General chemistry and MK103119 Introduction to chemistry. The chemistry festival lasts one week and includes cross-professional group work among the fields of study 298BMI, 427BT, BBIOING and 184BG. Representatives from professional field give lectures and the students solve a contextual group task which is presented in the form of a video. Completion of the group assignment and evaluation count as two compulsory work requirements.
In the compulsory laboratory journals, parts of the tasks must be done in Excel in order to become familiar with the software.
