Bachelor thesis in Biomedical Laboratory Science

Scientific literature search. Use of reference database. Exercises in statistics. Relevant problems and hypotheses will be worked out by the research community at St. Olav`s University Hospital, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU); Faculty of Medicine and Health and Faculty of Natural Science, Dept. of Biomedical Laboratory Science or relevant, external institutions.

The student should give an account of and discuss restricted scientific current problems within medical laboratory technology; both orally and written (formal scientific report). The student is able to map, problematize and discuss scientific and technical questions. The student is able to cooperate with other professionals on relevant problems.

Exercises in statistics: Teamwork including 2-4 students. Oral presentation of their exercises. Bachelor thesis: Teamwork including 2-3 students; involving handing in a common report (bachelor thesis). Student should independently perform collection of data, analyses and result processing. The bachelor thesis should be written as a scientific report, and orally presented. In specific cases an individual bachelor thesis could be handed in and presented. Accepted working load: 425 hours
