Internship Work Project

As part of their internship the students must complete an internship assignment. The internship assignment has to fulfil the academic requirements of a master’s level programme. The internship assignment has to be an academic piece of work which may refer to, or include parts of, your internship project. The assignment may be part of the internship project, or it may be an independent report. The following are examples of the areas of research covered by the course, and which the internship project could relate to: International Political Economy, International Relations, Social Change, Marginalization and Mobility, Conflict and Peace, Cultural Knowledge, Cross-cultural Management, Knowledge and Technology Transfer and Translation.

The learning objectives are to develop and build the personal, academic and professional capacities of the students by allowing them to research and manage an individual work project within a global company. Students should also gain an interdisciplinary perspective to their studies, and, furthermore, gain insight into the relations between processes of globalization and company strategies like cross-cultural management or technology and knowledge transfer across cultural borders, which occur at the interface between economy and culture.

Individual supervision, with supervisors from both NTNU and the work place. The project report is to be submitted to the student’s academic and work placement supervisors. The internship assignment will be evaluated by both supervisors. Assessment: A written report relating to the internship work project (between 30 and 40 pages; 12 pt, 1.5 spacing) should be submitted to NTNU.
