Fluvial Systems

The course studies processes operating in fluvial systems, with focus on material transport, and rivers responses to natural physical changes and human interference. The course is taught every other year, alternating with course GEOG3514 Slope Systems.

Knowledge:
The course provides a comprehensive understanding of how fluvial processes responds to external influence.

Skills:
The candidate will be able to critically review scientific articles within the selected topics, and to pinpoint their relevance, strengths and weeknesses.

General competence:
The candidate can apply advanced knowledge on fluvial systems in communication with specialists and the general public, and is competent to work in public and private sectors and in science.

This course will not be offered autumn 2016. 10 hours seminars. Compulsary activity: Written presentation of an article on the curriculum.
