Human Change in the Landscape

The course focuses on changes and conflicting interests in Norwegian landscapes over time, with an emphasis on developments after Second World War. The course further gives insights into the influence of agricultural policy, physical planning, and management of natural resources and cultural heritage on landscapes, including people`s practices and uses of landscapes. Based on one day field course, the student writes a report, which must be approved before the written examination can be taken.

Knowledge: Has basic insight into the field of landscape geography. Understands how human choices and valuation influence the landscape over time.

Skills: Is able to explain landscape change.

General competence: Has training in academic writing.

24 hours lectures and one day fieldcourse.
