About this course

Content

The course covers some of the advanced tools provided by information technology to manage spatial information throughout the life cycle of mining projects. Among the aspects dealt with are geostatistics and quantitative modelling of deposits. The academic content will be custom made to the candidate(s).

Learning outcomes

KNOWLEDGE: After accomplishment and passed examination, the candidate shall have thorough knowledge at a high level of geometric and qualimetric aspects related to the development of deposits and exploitation and associated software.

SKILLS: After accomplishment and passed examination, the candidate shall know how to describe and model a deposit using relevant software and to define and model a production system.

GENERAL COMPETENCE: After accomplishment and passed examination, the candidate has developed the capabilities of critical thinking and to use the knowledge and skills to quality assure and further develop both the explicit and implicit knowledge presented in the course material.

Teaching methods

Practical classes are used for independent work on relevant themes within the subject. Course evaluation is done by the participating students.
