Astrophysics 2

The lectures provide an advanced discussion of fundamental topics in astrophysics. Students obtain a solid introduction in the evolution and the structure of stars, relevant nuclear processes and their final stages. Students obtain an overview of extragalactic astrophysics and high-energetic processes.

Students can analyze and solve simple problems in the evolution and structure of stars, and in extragalactic astrophysics.

Students are able to develop and to apply abstract mathematical models to concrete problems.

Lectures and exercises. Expected workload is 225 hours.
