Audiovisual Industry

FVP3005 Audiovisual Industry is a course at master's level, based on the student's own disciplinary competence in professional audiovisual production.

Through an internship in the audiovisual industry, students develop collaborative competence by taking on relevant professional roles and performing specific tasks. Through seminar activity, students will increase their knowledge of cooperation within different group structures.

Knowledge

After completing the course the student should be able to:

• reflect on team collaboration and different group constellations in professional contexts
• analyze and describe collaborative experiences with relevant concepts and apply basic group theory to these experiences
• explain expectations of competence and interaction in the context of professional life

Skills

After completing the course, the student should have:

• acquired skills in self-reflection with regard to participation in teamwork and challenges in connection with teamwork, whether professional, social, or personal
• skills in project work, planning, decision-making and communication in professional settings
• further developed their skills in terms of giving and receiving feedback

The students are assigned a placement for an extended internship within a production company in the regional audiovisual industry. Each student is assigned an individual mentor in the production company.

The course is organised around a number of all-day gatherings during the internship period, as well as seminar work after the internship ends. Insights into cooperation and self reflection about cooperative processes is central to the course.

Compulsory assignment: Preliminary findings and experiences from the internship are shared in an oral presentation during the placement period.

It is the responsibility of the student to keep up to date on information from the department or lecturers on Canvas. The course is taught in Norwegian only.
