Preproduction Course for Master's Production

FVP3003 is a practical production course at master's level, where students develop and complete a comprehensive individual preproduction work for their Master's Production. This production is then realized during the 3rd and 4th semester, as part of the course FVP3200 Master's Production and Master's Thesis in Film Production.

Knowledge

Upon successful completion of the course the student has in-depth knowledge of:

• research, conceptualisation and preproduction work within the student's individual specific professional role and responsibilities
• processes of script development, audiovisual dramatisation, production planning and other pre-production phases in connection with their own production work
• relevant laws and regulations in the area of production of audiovisual expressions
• connections between cinematurgical perspectives and the practical-aesthetic realisation of audiovisual stories

Skills

Upon successful completion of this course the student knows how to

• develop film ideas and projects
• manage film projects
• manage professional responsibilities and advanced workflows of digital film production
• employ of advanced production and project management tools

Seminars - including tutoring and feedback on written exercises and oral presentations.

The course is organised as seminars providing students with tutoring and feedback concerning their individual work on scripts, role specific development responsibilities, and production plans for the practical part of the Master's thesis.

Students are required to check the result of their assignments and to stay updated on any information given by the department or course director via Canvas. This course is taught in Norwegian only.
