About this course

Content

The aim of this class is to equip the students with the tools to express and share their knowledge and expertise beyond the bounds of academia, and through different formats and genres. The students will receive insight into and be able to assess various forms of communication, such as blogs, academic articles, podcasts, videography, etc.

The students will produce their own communication projects, relevant to their own specialization or master's thesis project.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Upon successful completion of the course students have knowledge of:

  • different forms of research communication (oral, written, audiovisual).
  • different genres and formats (blogs, interviews, podcasts, video essays, etc.).
  • social, digital and traditional media as communication channels.
  • how to communicate expertise and academic knowledge in a clear and specific manner.

Skills

Students who complete the course also:

  • master different forms of communication.
  • have knowledge of different media and different genres for outreach and dissemination.
  • are able to assess the communication of others.
  • be able to produce their own digital texts, audiovisual content and presentations.

Teaching methods

Lectures, seminars, and compulsory assignments.
