Thesis in Pharmacy

The master's thesis is a project of 52,5 credits. It is to be an independent research exercise within a relevant research area conducted under supervision. More information about the thesis is given in the Guidelines for the Master's Thesis at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

After completion of the master's thesis the candidate has the following knowledge, skills and general competence:

Knowledge

• The candidate has comprehensive knowledge within a pharmaceutical topic and the scientific methodology required to perform a research project or development project.
• The candidate has comprehensive knowledge on central principles and legislation related to the ethics of research

Skills

• The candidate can perform a limited research/development project within the field of pharmacy.
• The candidate can use the statistical and epidemiological methods that are relevant for a given research project.
• The candidate can use scientific knowledge to generate solutions to advanced theoretical and practical pharmaceutical problems.
• The candidate can analyze and relate critically to various sources of information, and use these to structure and formulate scientific arguments.

General competence

• The candidate can communicate the importance of scientific documentation and the difference between documented and undocumented claims.
• The candidate can contribute to quality development and innovation within the field
• The candidate can communicate evidence-based knowledge to health professionals, patients and the general public.
• The candidate can discuss the implications of research ethics on their research project.
