Art and Media Studies

The course is an introduction to academic interpretation, thinking, reading and writing. In addition, attention is also given to experiences of art and media expressions and to the various genres of academic writing.

Aquiring basic academic skills, as mentioned above, including using sources and references in dealing with texts from your field of study; such as drama/theatre studies, film studies, media studies, art history and dance.

This course is taught in Norwegian only.

Lectures, group sessions and individual works.

Course requirements:
Attendance and participation of minimum 80 % in the lectures and group sessions of Humstart.

Compulsory assignments:
In order to receive the final assessment in EXFAC0012 the student must have achieved an attendance and participation of minimum 80 % in the EXFAC0012 group sessions.

More on assessment: The final assessment is based on a letter-graded term paper of about 3 200 - 4 000 words (8 - 10 pages).

Students are required to stay updated on any information given by the department or course director via It's learning, Innsida and on the department's bulletin boards.
