Natural Convection Flows in Buildings
Spring and Autumn
Trondheim
English
About this course
Content
The course considers different airflow scenarios in buildings where natural convection is part of the driving force. Such airflows are important in relation to ventilation, heating and moisture transport in buildings. Thermal convection flows and jet flows are covered. Analytical solutions, empirical calculations and numerical simulations are presented.
Given every second year, spring 2027, spring 2029, etc
Learning outcomes
The course shall give the student knowledge about: Flow and heat transfer problems existing in buildings and which are created by mechanical and natural forces as buoyancy and wind. The course shall give students insight into: analyses and calculation of heat and mass transfer problems in buildings. The course shall prepare the student to: carry out such analyses and calculation of flow and heat transfer problems.
