Art Educational Practice-based Reseach and Development Project

The content of the subject Art-pedagogic Communication Project is centred on practical and theoretical work in the initiation, planning, preparation, execution, evaluation and discussion of an art-pedagogic communication project. There will be emphasis on understanding, reflecting critically upon and discussing the concepts "art-pedagogy", "communication" and "art-pedagogic communication". Work assignments associated with the professional arts pedagogue and issues and challenges associated with art-pedagogic communication will be presented, investigated and analysed. Art-pedagogic communication will be understood as an interdisciplinary and cross-aesthetic field of study. Examples from art-pedagogic communication projects or from arts pedagogues based in various arts subjects will be used for stimulus and inspiration by teachers with backgrounds in different artistic fields. Examples of fields that may be included in the teaching are art-pedagogic communication associated with dance/stage art projects for various target groups, the Cultural Rucksack, the Cultural Walking Stick, the National Concerts, teachers in cultural schools, freelance educationalists, museum pedagogy, the curator field and communication using new media. Examples that will be taken up depend, inter alia, on current projects when the subject is being taught.
Collaboration with local or national institutions, including practice and practical work on site. Documentation of the project process. Subsequent publication of written work is encouraged.

The student
- has knowledge of possible ways of working within art-pedagogic communication
- has knowledge of art-pedagogic communication work associated with various aesthetic subjects within different fields and media
- must be able to discuss art-pedagogic communication issues and challenges orally and in writing
- can initiate, plan, prepare and carry out all phases of an art-pedagogic project
- can interpret, commit to writing and argue in favour of an aspect of an art-pedagogic communication project

Obligatorisk deltakelse i
- verkstedsbasert undervisning, forelesinger og diskusjoner
- praktisk arbeid i grupper, med delt ansvar for fremdrift og gjennomføring med medstudenter
- samarbeid med lokal/nasjonal institusjon, inklusive øving og praktisk arbeid på stedet
- dokumentasjon av prosessen, samt datagenering og -analyse knyttet til individuell problemformulering
- formidling og diskusjon av FoU-prosjektene på kunstpedagogisk minikonferanse
- individuell skriftliggjøring av arbeidet gjennom forskningsrapport på 5-7 sider
