International Politics and Conflicts in School and Media

Introduction into the main social scientific perspectives on international politics and conflicts in the international community. The subject takes up how international politics and conflicts are presented in school and in the mass media and how we may understand the use of human rights and international law in curricula and text books.

The student
- is familiar with the development of the main trends in international politics.
- can use reasoning based on subject didactics to communicate international politics.
- can explain and discuss conflict situations in the international community with emphasis on being able to apply an understanding of international law, human rights and international legal proceedings.
- can discuss how issues in the field of international politics and conflicts in the international community have traditionally been dealt with in the social science subjects in schools.
- can discuss how text books and the mass media have presented selected international conflicts.
