Universal Design

The focus is universal design in the built environment. Basic introduction to the following topics: Concepts, principles, user perspectives, perception and the senses, built examples, ethical perspectives, building code.

Knowledge of academic and ideological fundament of universal design. Knowledge of user groups and their specific needs. Knowledge of relevant concepts, principles and problems. Knowledge of law and building code. Skills: Understand and apply specific concepts and principles of universal design. Identify and analyze concrete challenges in the physical environment. Charting user needs. Transform user needs to practical solutions. General competence: Perform administrative processes and planning involving universal design.

Lectures, videoes, litterature study, assigments, tutoring. May be arranged as a complete online course if needed. The assignment set must be approved prior to the examination.
