Knowledge:

The candidate:

• understands mechanical properties for concrete, steel, wood, asphalt and Wiring harness materials
• have basic knowledge of the type of material for different people constructions and purposes, based on mechanical and thermal properties and environmental impact
• understands basic theory of important building and construction materials. The composition of the materials, manufacture, structure, function and applications in buildings
• understands influences such as moisture, temperature and chemicals
• understands the use of simplified security data among other things quality control
• gain innovative competence that contributes to understanding of multidisciplinary digital solutions.

Skills: The candidate can:

• choose the right raw materials and material type for different constructions, based on loads and environmental impact
• use calculation methods to document material selection, both manually and using computer tools
• apply current legislation and documentation for building materials. General competence:

• have insight into the current European standard work NS-EN
• Master relevant subject expressions and can collaborate with other professionals.
• have insight into the basic material properties of the most commonly used building materials
• Gain an understanding of ethics in the construction industry.
• understands interaction between product / material and project data using standard digital solutions.
