Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
The candidate:
- Gains insight into 2D/3D modelling.
- Gain knowledge of IFC-based information flow in construction projects.
- Understands interaction between 3D modeling and technical installations in buildings - such as pipes, ventilation and electricity.
- Uses digital data tools for collision of BIM models.
- Understands interaction between product/material and project data using standard-based digital solutions.
- Understands the use of simplified safety data sheets and quality control.
- Understands project interaction including digital data flow. Understands the use of digital tools for FDVU of buildings.
Candidate's skills:
- Can model building constructions using 2D/3D modeling programs.
- Can use data flow using standardized data formats between different computer programs.
- Can lead simulated construction meetings with digital methodology.
General competence
The candidate:
- Be able to convey key subject matter such as describing the main features of a construction process, which actors are involved as well as their tasks and responsibilities, and the external framework conditions that apply to the construction process.
- Gain an understanding of ethics in the construction industry.
- Gains innovative competence that contributes to an understanding of interdisciplinary digital solutions.
- Has insight and expertise in organizing and establishing practical models.
Teaching methods
Student-active forms of learning:
Lectures and exercises with supervision. Emphasis is placed on projects as a working method where the students in teams together design a construction project

- Exercises on complete digital models with regard to interdisciplinary understanding and innovative competence.

Compulsory activities:
Compulsory BIM laboratory exercises
Mandatory report with BIM project tasks based on digital models in various computer tools.
Compulsory oral presentation in plenary at the final meeting.
