  • Strength analysis, load calculation and design of simple reinforced concrete and steel structures, including connections
  • Digitization and modeling

Learning outcomes

Knowledge:

The candidate:

  • Understands mechanical properties for concrete and steel
  • Understands basic theories for strength analysis, load calculation and design according to the European standard NS-EN
  • Understands basic design principles and statics
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of digitalisation and modeling of buildings using digital technology
  • Gaining innovative expertise that contributes to understanding multidisciplinary digital solutions.

Skills:

The candidate can:

  • draw and project simple building structures to scale using digital technology - 2D and 3D ROOF
  • dimension simple building structures, both manually and using computer tools
  • choose material type based on loads and environmental impact
  • apply current legislation to the design and documentation of common technical solutions.

General competence:

The candidate:

  • can present their results
  • have insight into the current European standard NS-EN design project
  • master relevant subject expressions and can collaborate with other professionals
  • have insight into the basic material properties of the most commonly used building materials.

Teaching methods

Teaching methods:

  • Lectures and basic design.

When using digital data tools

  • Exercises on complete digital models for multidisciplinary understanding and innovative competence. Compulsory activities:
  • Compulsory written work requirements.
  • Compulsory digital exercises, 3D modeling.
