Artistic Project

The fifth semester consists of the development of the project which is presented during the Artistic Encounters in the sixth semester. In this semester, work is carried out collectively on planning and coordinating the process leading up to the Artistic Encounters. In the fifth semester, the first draft of the BFA thesis and documentation is delivered, reflecting on the continuity of artistic processes, associated research and transformation of ideas of the previous semesters,

In the third year, the beginnings of artistic research and advanced practice is contextualized and ends with a joint public Artistic Encounter. The students plan, program and realise this encounter, presentation or showing in collaboration with an internal or external coordinator.

Upon completion of the course the student will demonstrate the ability to:

• plan and realise a contemporary artistic project in preparation of exam.
• write a text that summarises the artistic activities of the term, contextualises their own practice so far and reflects on research as part of artistic processes: describing the ways of shaping ideas and making decisions.
• have skills in collectively organising and planning the BFA degree public presentation (Artistic Encounters) of the following term.
• knowing how to oversee transportation, installation and or production, how to engage with public relations, promotion and dissemination of artistic forms in an ethical way, and how to manage available budgets with a sustainable, efficient, and creative approach.

Participation in technical and thematic courses and collaborative projects.

Peer-to-peer feedback sessions and individual supervision when needed, with fellow students and academic mentors.

Further development of artistic practice and projects in the course of the semester, with the main focus on the preparations for production of the final BFA exam project.

Preparation procedure for the final Artistic Encounters & public presentations including shared organisation, participation in working groups for planning and implementing the BFA Artistic Encounters.

Creative and critical writing tutorials (individual or in groups) aimed at supporting the production of the BFA exam text.

Specific conditions

Approved compulsory assignments are valid in the current semester.

This course is offered to incoming exchange students and could be taught in English.
