Artistic Work and Experimentation

Testing out and experiencing with different artistic processes, media and materials both through participation in courses and workshops and development of self-initiated projects.

Further development of writing skills through testing out f different genres.
Refinement of individual artistic practice through concentrated studio work and tutorials
To be able to argue for and explain choices of media, methods and materials.
To become acquainted with a broader international milieu through exchange programs.

Participation in elective courses/workshops/seminars. This can include continuing/advanced courses in various techniques/media/workshops, as well as thematic courses and projects. This part of the programme will vary from year to year, where the content will be determined by current professors. The minimum requirement is that students register for and complete at least one elective course per semester. Completion of the course will be part of the criteria for semester assessment.
Writing course & writing tutorials. To explore different genres and to define a personal approach to writing to support, discuss and contextualise one’s own artistic practice.
Tutorials with main supervisor and second supervisor, and development of an individual art project to be planned and developed during the semester. The project will build upon and further develop the artistic work carried out during the 2nd. Semester.
Participation in Open Academy.
An optional group study tour may take place during the semester.
Optional exchange to another institution through the KUNO or Erasmus networks.
NTNU Ex. Phil course, which may be arranged during the 3rd. Or 4th. Semester.
