In this course, you will learn practical and theoretical knowledge about graphics. We will explore printing methods from around the world and their contribution to society as a whole. For more practical learning, an introduction to relief and stencil printing in the printmaking workshop will be available. The course requires students to experiment independently in the printmaking workshop.

After completing the course, the student has a more global and nuanced understanding and knowledge of printmaking,

• the student understand how diverse cultures, over time, have contributed to the discovery and evolution of printmaking and its fascinating journey to contemporary times.
• the student will have theoretical and practical knowledge of analog and digital printing techniques as well.

The course consists of both theoretical and practical activities. Through workshops, seminars, and lectures, it introduces graphics into practice. Assignments and presentations, it gives you a basis for individual reflections and group discussions that build a basic understanding of the potential of graphic media, historically and today.

Specific conditions

Approved compulsory assignments are valid in the current semester.

This course is offered to incoming exchange students and will be taught in English if necessary.
