About this course
Content
The climate agreement will affect the buildings in two ways. The buildings will live longer and will be smart. The use of the buildings/assets with digital information management and associated digital documentation requirements will therefore receive increased focus. ISO 19650, Part 3 (the operational use phase) supports this focus. At the same time, the focus is on leading requirements for the introduction of new IT technologies.
Themes:
- Current laws and standards, and guidelines
- Digital information organisation, information management and delivery according to ISO19650 and guidelines
- Requirements specification with life-cycle focus, developing requirements setting competence
- BIM maturity, industrial development and granularity related to the level of information needs (LOIN)
- Digital building information in the life-cycle, work/information flow
- Multidisciplinary (teamwork with different roles) preparation of information requirements and needs, associated modelling and report to the selected case study in building and/or construction
- Interaction and sharing on Common Data Environment (CDE)
- Modelling/ontology building related to issues in buildings and/or facilities (infrastructure)
- Experience summary and reflections on own learning
Learning outcomes
Upon completing this course, students will have the following:
- Holistic, practical BIM knowledge and skills relevant to civil engineering in public and private sectors.
- Ability to lead and execute more complicated buildingSMART tasks connected with civil engineering projects for public authorities, architects, consulting engineers, contractors and building owners.
- Knowledge of requirements specification/ordering knowledge for BIM and Facility Management BIM.
- Experience and knowledge of the interaction between different subjects and BIM-based computer programs in a BIM project.
- Experience with the preparation of interdisciplinary documentation (report) in a limited BIM project.
- Ability to assess the transfer of experiences related to building information modelling to other relevant projects or contexts.
- Ability to transfer building information modelling experiences to other relevant projects.
Teaching methods
- Project work with a combination of group and individual assignments.
- Net-based learning with conferences, lectures, videos, literature studies, and project work supported by guidance for project assignments. Group work and individual assignments.
- The course has two physical meetings, each with 2 days. It is mandatory to participate in these meetings. - Absence requires a medical certificate or any other reason, approved by the teacher.
