Læringsutbytte - Kunnskap: On completion of the course students will Be able to document the quality of the laboratory¿s instruments and technical procedures. Be able to document the quality of staining results Have acquired knowledge about how and why the use of immune-histological, histological and cytological techniques can be helpful for diagnosis. Have acquired knowledge about the normal processes in the human body, and processes that reflects diseases in one or more of the body¿s organs. Be able to understand why specific biochemical principles are being used to measure or determine certain substances.      Læringsutbytte - Ferdigheter: On completion of the course students will Be able to understand biological variation and the clinical relevance of the results from the analyses. Be able to evaluate the medical validity of the result of the test, i.e. quality of the analysis in comparison to the medical problem. Be able to give priority to one test before another in case of emergency. Be able to understand and identify morphological disorders in tissues and cells.      Læringsutbytte - Kompetanse: On completion of the course students will Have skills in professional holistic view against main subjects. Be able to develop a perspective on possible environmental consequences of the laboratory¿s activity

Pedagogiske metoder: Lectures and compulsory laboratory assignments. Emphasis on student active ways of learning such as student projects.      Obligatoriske arbeidskrav: Passed compulsory laboratory courses. Approved compulsory work and journals from the assessments. Practical test must be passed before entry to written examinations.
