About this course

Content

The course gives an introduction to conservation biology, loss of biodiversity and the methods to prevent this. Central topics are how biodiversity is valued, causes of loss of biodiversity, and the theoretical foundations for and empirical examples of methods in conservation biology.

The candidate will obtain knowledge and understanding of:

  • Patterns and processes in biodiversity relevant for conservation biology
  • How biodiversity can be valued
  • The threats to biodiversity
  • Different concepts and methods in conservation biology, and how they are linked to patterns of biodiversity
