Movement Control and Movement Problems

The course provides a research-based understanding of movement control in all phases of life, both in healthy people and in people with movement problems. The course integrates disciplines such as physiology, biomechanics, and motor control to understand how movements are controlled. Movement problems that will be highlighted include selected developmental movement problems and age-related conditions, as well as movement problems related to illness and injury.

The student has research-based knowledge about motor, biomechanical, and physiological aspects of movement control.

The student has knowledge about movement control in developmental disorders and age-related conditions, and in various diseases and injuries.

The student can critically evaluate theories and methods about movement control, and apply these theories and methods to issues related to movement problems.

Up to 42 hours lectures/exercises/group work.
