About this course

Content

The objective of the course is to give students a research-based understanding of how physical activity and exercise can affect health and disease risk, including knowledge of the possible mechanisms for the relationship between physical activity and disease progression. A part of the teaching will be aimed at critical evaluation and interpretation of scientific articles.

Learning outcomes

The student has knowledge about how physical activity affects health and disease risk, and how physical activity can be used in disease prevention, health promotion and (re)habilitation. The student has knowledge about the use and evaluation of technology related to physical activity.
Students can acquire research-based knowledge on the relationship between physical activity and health, and assess, present and discuss such knowledge.
