About this course

Content

The course introduce the students to didactic of physical activity. Through varied work methods, students will learn how to plan, organize, implement and evaluate physical activity tailored to the needs of individuals and groups focused on creating mastery, improved health and performance development.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

The student has knowledge of: •

  • Planning, implementation and evaluation of physical activity for both individuals and groups. •
  • Basic didactic principles for teaching physical activity •
  • Different theories and methods related to teaching physical activities for both individual and groups. •
  • Relevant sports pedagogical and sports psychology subject themes •
  • Physical activity and good health •
  • Disease preventive and health promotion related to physical activity for different groups in the population.

Skills

The student has skills in: •

  • To plan, organize, implement and evaluate physical activity for people and groups of different skill levels and with different aims. •
  • To apply knowledge about the body's anatomy, physiology, motoric, biomechanics and the functioning of the movement apparatus in an educational situation. •
  • The use of a repertoire of exercises and practical methodological tools to develop other people's motor skills and skills in physical activity and sports. •
  • Evaluation of group dynamics and adapting teaching to different groups. •
  • The application of different motivation and feedback theories •
  • Self-reflection after own teaching of physical activity.

General competence •

  • The student has insight into ethical issues related to the role of a physical activity teacher for single individuals and groups. •
  • The student is able to exchange views and experiences of theories in the field of teaching physical activity and movement science, thereby contributing to the development of the subject field. •
  • The student can inspire and facilitate good teaching •
  • The student can act properly and show respect and empathy for single practitioners and training environments

Teaching methods

Up to 42 hours lectures,exercises and group work.
