About this course

Content

The subject will cover various fundamental principles about adaptation to regular exercise at different levels of performance. This applies in particular to the physical changes induced by strength training, endurance training, and technique training. However, also psychological factors in relation to training will be covered. Training effects will be discussed from a sports performance perspective.

Learning outcomes

The aim of the subject is for students to acquire fundamental knowledge about the effects of physical activity on athletic performance. Students shall be able to apply theory in the fields of physiology, anatomy, and motor behaviour with regard to training and performance.

Teaching methods

Up to 42 hours lectures/exercises/group work. The course is reserved for students admitted to the major in Human Movement and Sports Science. Exchange students interested in the course must consult the Department for possible admission
