About this course
Content
This course covers anatomy at both macro and micro level, focusing on skeleton, joints and muscles. The approach is motion device support and motion function. Introduction to anthropometry is part of the course. The exercises and group work contain practical activities, demonstrations, and exercises in anatomy focusing on movement analysis.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge
- The student has basic knowledge of the human anatomy, function and adaptation, with particular focus on the movement apparatus (macro and micro level)
- The student has good knowledge about muscle function and involved muscles in body movements
- The student has basic knowledge of muscular strength and joint torque
- The student has basic knowledge about the respiratory- and cardiovascular system
Skills
- Describe the construction of body tissues
- Skeletal muscle names, including origin and insertion
- Describe muscle and joint function - A general overview of anatomical terminology
General competence
- The student has considerable insight into the structure and function of the movement apparatus
- The student has insight into qualitative anatomical analyses
- The student can disseminate knowledge about the structure and function of the movement apparatus (both written and oral)
Teaching methods
The course has lectures throughout the whole semester. Up to 96 hours of lectures/exercises/group work/lab work.
