Child Welfare Workers

The focus of the course will be on social assignment, competence and the Identity of the child welfare worker. Historical perspectives on childhood is a central part of the course, as well as childhood conditions and children and adolescents in vulnerable life situations.

Knowlegde

The student has:
- knowlegde of the child welfare worker profession, its history, competence and social mission
- knowlegde of childhood, children's upbringing, children and youth in vulnerable life situations
- knowlegde of social-educational theory, - principles, and -practice, and professional ethical guidelines
- knowlegde of basic communication and relationship theories, hereunder professional drama theory
knowlegde of use of art, culture and activity in social-educational work
- knowledgde on Cooperation and group processes

Skills

The student can
- explain the child welfare worker profession, its history, competence and social mission
- explain childhood, childrens upbringing, children and youth in vulnerable life situations
- facilitate Activity With children and youth

"Flipped classroom", lectures, self studies, practising skills, field studies and art, culture and activities.
