Project Evaluation. Purpose, Methods and Practice

The course is normally given every second year, with the earliest next time being fall 2024. The course offers a theoretical and hands on introduction to project evaluation, emphasizing generic knowledge and approaches that are generally applicable to all types of projects. Key words: Interdisciplinary assessment based on both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Different types of evaluations are discussed, purpose, design, focus, evaluation models, data collection, analysis, quality assurance and reporting.

The candidate will submit a case study. Knowledge: Aquire a basic understanding of common terminology, principles and methods for planning and implementation of project evaluations. Skills: Design an evaluation study witk emphasize on methodology, focus and analytic standard. General competence: Scietific approach in overall analyses of projects.

The course includes an introductory seminar, self guided literature study, and a case analysis as basis for course examination. To pass the course a score of at least 70 percent is required.
