VDC-Certificate Programme Norway NTNU - Stanford

The course is very practically oriented and all project tasks are carried out in real projects in your own organisation. The course gives you comprehensive knowledge of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), implementation of VDC and practical application of VDC in your own organisation/ team/ department/ project.

The five VDC concepts include:

Integrated Concurrent Engineering ICEBuilding Information Modeling (BIM)Process and production management (PPM)MetricsGoal achievement (Project objective + Client objective)

After the course, the participant should be able to explain the four concepts included in the VDC framework: Integrated Concurrent Engineering (ICE), building information modeling (BIM), process and production management, and goal management.

The participant must be able to analyze the connection between the four concepts included in the VDC framework.

The participant must also be able to plan, implement and evaluate (facilitate) collaboration meetings / ICE sessions for various types of tasks, as well as independently use digital solutions to facilitate ICE sessions.

Otherwise, the participant must be able, among other things, to develop VDC as a framework for implementing projects in their own organization, develop and apply goal management to document project goals and customer/business goals, as well as develop an implementation plan for use/increased use of VDC using standardized practice.
