Governance and Management of Projects

The course is about governance and management of projects with project delivery methods and project models - from the front end to the operational phase. The front end lasts till the final decision about financing the project and the operational phase starts after handover.

The participants learn methods for analysis of sustainability and economy in projects. The methods include Logical Framework Approach, Achievement of UNSDG, SWOT, Uncertainty Analysis, Risk Matrix, Profitability Analysis, Benefit/Cost Analysis, Sensitivity Analysis, and Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis. Here, sustainability includes a broad understanding of value. Economy includes both cost and income. The participants also learn how success factors in practice should impact project delivery (Project organisation, Contract strategy, Stakeholder analysis, Power balance and Conflict resolution). The course content is based on research and international literature.

• Project delivery methods and project models
• Methods for analysing sustainability and economy in projects (Logical Framework Approach, Achievement of UNSDG, SWOT, Uncertainty Analysis, Risk Matrix, Profitability Analysis, Benefit/Cost Analysis, Sensitivity Analysis, and Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis)
• How success factors and pitfalls impact project delivery in practice (Project organization, Contract strategy, Stakeholder analysis, Power balance and Conflict resolution)
